(Basseterre, St. Kitts): The Digicel Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant which is apart of the National Carnival celebrations is scheduled for December 29 at Carnival Village.

So far 12 countries have confirmed their participation including St. Kitts who will be represented by the reigning National Talented Teen Alsarnada Hanley.

According to Chairman of the pageant, Antonio Director Maynard the pageant is in its 28th year and will also feature a contestant from Bermuda who will be participating in the pageant for the first time.
He also said that after a three year hiatus Cuba will be participating in the competition once again.

Maynard also said that the winner will receive cash and prizes worth EC$10,000 and trips to two Caribbean destinations to perform at teen shows.
The intention is always to keep the show of a high standard, said Maynard.

This year we have contracted very talented young ladies who are naturally talented and skilled in dramatizing, singing and instrumental performances, so like every year the show is going to be great.

Maynard said that they will not release as yet the names of their special guest artistes who usually add to the high caliber of the show.

Apart from attending the usual local Carnival shows and hotspots the contestants will also have lunch aboard a Cruise Ship and participate in luncheons hosted by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The contestants will be staying at the Frigate Bay Hotel and the official launch of the pageant is slated for Nov. 27 at the Ocean Terrace Inn where they will also release the names of other major sponsors.

Plans are progressing perfectly and this event continues to be the most popular and prestigious event of the Caribbean and we intend to kept it that way, Maynard said.
Last years winner is Miss Trinidad and Tobago Zobeh Samuels who has performed at shows in Guyana and Curacao.
