Valon Masquerade, Taro Masquerade and Home Boys Masquerade- all of which originate from Trafalgar Village - have been longstanding members of the cultural entertainment core in the Federation.

According to Antonio Maynard, Chairperson of the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant Committee, the organisation was fulfilling a promise made which was to significantly contribute to the masquerade groups from the Village area.

“We continue to assist the different organizations financially with proceeds realized from the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen as we have done over the years,” said Maynard. 

He explained that the money is to assist the groups with the purchasing of costume material, travel expenses and also to make sure they are prepared for the upcoming season and festivals including Culturama and Carnival.  

Maynard continued by saying, “We hope to continue this relationship as we strive to contribute towards the development of the arts in the Village area.

Valon Clark accepted on behalf of his group while Elvin Henry accepted on behalf of Taro Masquerade and Dion Holloman accepted on behalf of the Home Boys.

The troupe founders and representatives thanked the Haynes Smith Committee saying they were ‘very happy for the kind donation’ adding that the funds would go a long way towards outfitting members and assisting the group as they continue to entertain tourists and locals alike.
