Digicel Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant Launched

Basseterre; St. Kitts): The official launch of the Digicel Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen was held yesterday Nov. 27 at the Ocean Terrace Inn at 5:30 p.m. The recent addition of Miss Antigua and Barbuda brings to 13 the number of contestants who have been confirmed for the prestigious title.

The Hon. Sam Condor, Deputy Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for the St. Johnson’s Village area, where the Haynes Smith Youth Club was created, said that as a past member of the club he is very proud of the efforts of the committee.

He lauded the committee for producing a show of high standards over the years and noted that the pageant is a testament to youths being involved in positive activities and events.

 

At the launch, Digicel led all sponsors when they committed EC$25000 to the pageant.

The other partners include Ziggy’s Bar & Grill, Sol Group, the National Aids Secretariat, ZIZ Broadcasting, Winair, American Eagle, The Cable TV, Carib Breweries and the Royal Bank of Canada, SKNVibes.com, a gold sponsor for the pageant, also unveiled the pageant’s website.

 

A song was also delivered by local artist CJ who is originally from St. Maarten who has been winning the hearts and respect of many, as they listen to his powerful voice.

The names of the guest artists were also announced at the launch. They are Dana Barnes, a finalist in the Digicel Rising Stars Competition, and Soca Artist Bomani from St. Vincent.

 

The countries competing in the prestigious pageant are Cuba, Curacao, Trinidad and Tobago, British Virgin Islands, Grenada, United States Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Bermuda, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda and host country St. Kitts.

St. Kitts will be represented by the reigning Miss National Talented Teen, Alsanarda Hanley.
